The little things
The human body was built to move to keep up with our environment but due to modern day advances in technology we do not need to do so much to keep up with our environment but this has lead to a problem of being sedentary. Sedentary isn’t the only problem associated with modern day living, our diet is also the problem.
The western world is now plagued by a lifestyle of sedentary activity and poor dieting choices. We see the consequences of this lifestyle choices with the rise of diseases such as type-2 diabetes, obesity, heart disease and etc. Most of the time these diseases can be either be prevented or delayed through exercise and proper dieting.
I understand that life can be busy but that doesn’t mean you should neglect your health. Find ways to incorporate movement into your life, instead of taking an escalator go and take the stairs instead, park a bit further away and walk a little bit extra, use your imagination and figure more ways to incorporate movement into your life. No one ever woke up one morning and just suddenly found themselves to be unhealthy it was a series of choices in life that have lead to that moment. That is why even though it seems like such a small deal to walk the stairs or to walk a little extra to get to where we want to be important These little things that we do can have a larger effect on our lives if we commit to them and they will become the habits we need to start living a healthier lifestyle.
